  For large items that do not fit or belong in your bins like old furniture, excess garbage, or mattresses, Mercer Island residents are entitled to one free non-appliance Bulky Item Collection per year. This can be scheduled by calling 206.381.6980

• Once each calendar year, residential customers may put out up to one cubic yard of garbage and two non-appliance bulky items (i.e. mattresses, couches, chairs) for same day collection at no additional charge.
